Scope and field of application

Foam silicone seals may be used in caps of cable connectors, track boxes, electric switch machines and electric drives for level-crossing barrier equipment. They protect wayside equipment from environmental hazards, dust, moisture and solids.
These seals do not harden at below-zero temperatures and regain their original shape and size when the cap is opened.
Before using foam silicone seals, the devices should be prepared thoroughly, i.e., old seals have to be carefully removed and the surface has to be cleaned and covered with silicone adhesive sealant.
